ABOUT JDE

Jabber Dorado Enterprises LLC (JDE), a certified M/WBE, is an internationally recognized food service management (FSM) company based in Queens that produces and distributes food. We work with schools, governments, nonprofits, and corporations to provide cooked and shelf-stable items and fulfill food procurement needs.


Food logistics and management powered by social good. JDE recruits and empowers a primarily immigrant employee base and provides a meaningful experience through fair wages, growth opportunities, financial and legal counsel. Whether we are cooking meals for 10 people or 10,000 people, our food is always cooked with purpose. A portion of proceeds from all sales are donated towards feeding food insecure communities across New York City.

Serving compliant, delicious, and culturally relevant meals to students of charter schools, school districts, private schools, after school and summer food programs. Full-service foodservice management capabilities, including on-site kitchen management, remote commissary, home delivery, and custom menu design.

HIGHER EDUCATION

Providing on-site foodservice management program brings made-from-scratch, delicious and culturally relevant meal options to colleges and universities. We emphasize the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and sustainable business practices to develop and execute menus that celebrate your campus community. JDE offers full-service operational support to clients, including on-site training and management teams, transition planning, and adaptable and customizable solutions that meet the interests of your students, faculty and staff. From main cafeteria concepts to coffee shops and cafes to all-day or late-night dining options, we have the capacity to take over the operations of your existing branded restaurant/cafe concepts or create new dining experiences for your campus.

PREPARED MEALS

Creating a variety of meal kit options customizable for a wide variety of requirements. These pre-packaged meal kits can incorporate a mix of shelf-stable, fresh produce, frozen or fresh meal offerings, along with easy-to-follow recipes for families to create on their own. Every family deserves access to tasty, delicious food that nourishes them. Our meal kits deliver high quality ingredients and recipes at a price point that is both affordable to customers, and are realistic for families to replicate on their own at constrained budgets.

Jabber Dorado Enterprises works closely with our sister brand, The Migrant Kitchen (TMK) to get our mission and name out to the masses on a retail level. Offering a fusion of Middle Eastern and Latin flavors in a fast casual setting across four locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

JDE proudly partners with The Migrant Kitchen Initiative 501(c)3 (TMKI) to provide meals for the food insecure. Developing mutually-beneficial fundraising campaigns and experiences that have an incredible impact on the world. Fueling immigrant workers and feeding the hungry. Combatting food insecurity one distribution at a time and bringing awareness to the public.

NASSER JABBER

Co-Founder

Originally from Ramallah, Palestine, Nasser’s work has always been inspired by the intersection of immigration and food. Since 2012, He has worked with the US State Department in Turkey, Sweden and Morocco to provide solutions to the refugee crisis through food, hospitality, and sustainable farming. In 2015 Nasser opened the critically acclaimed Middle Eastern restaurant, Mazeish in Manhattan's Lower East Side, which birthed Displaced Kitchens; a project devoted to showcasing the diverse communities that are the backbone of the NYC food industry.

DANIEL DORADO

Co-Founder & CEO

After 20+ years in the restaurant industry, Dan Dorado has established himself as one of the leading chefs and culinary activists working to fight food insecurity and attempting to reinvent the traditional business model of the food world on a global scale.  Working with organizations such as The Ian Schrager Company, China Grill Management, JA Restaurant Management Dan has overseen teams of 100+ in executive roles both in and out of the kitchen. In 2012, he joined the team at EMM Group at Catch NYC and assisted in the management of other large venues within the company before departing to take on the executive chef role at ilili NYC for what turned out to be an extremely influential four years reinterpreting the taste and perception of middle eastern food in America. In 2019 he co-founded The Migrant Kitchen, an Arab Latin fusion restaurant that donates meals to New Yorkers in need.

JACLINN TANNEY

Co Founder + President of TMKI

Jaclinn Tanney's professional career has been devoted to culture and building brands that bring the most out of their people. She has led the repositioning of global brands, been at the helm of multi-channel marketing campaigns and managed cross-functional teams for organizations like Le Pain Quotidien, Mount Sinai Medical Center, DKMS, Orbis International, and University of Pennsylvania. Jaclinn's nonprofit affiliations include Board of Directors positions with Girl Be Heard and Music for Autism. She is a member of the Council of Protocol Executives, Women in Development, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals where she was a recipient of the Organizational Hero Award.

ANNABEL BARASH

Director of Communications

Annabel’s career stretches across the luxury retail, general contracting, and hospitality industries. Beginning with a background in architecture and interior design, evolving to her time as a pastry chef, then leading her to the finance world as Controller. She has spent the last 10+ years overseeing finance and accounting for a number of organizations in the food and beverage sectors. Now overseeing Human Resources, she will be working to maintain the welfare of Jabber Dorado Enterprises and bringing forth the mission of service.

LAUREN KOWALIK-KANE

Project Manager

Lauren is an Ohio native, holds a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences in International Studies from The Ohio State University and is a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholar (2012). Lauren is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in project management, sales, and customer service. Throughout her career, she has excelled in client retention, operational efficiency, and team development across industries, including legal services, fintech, and SaaS start-ups. At JDE, she has successfully overseen critical projects, aligned strategies, and driven efficient cross-functional collaboration both internally and externally, with JDE key partners, ensuring significant business growth.

RYAN SPANO

Operations Manager

Ryan Spano has extensive hospitality experience with expertise in operations management. His passion for the food industry began at an early age. Working at an imported and domestic specialty food store in high school, Ryan was exposed to front and back of house operations before increasing his responsibilities to include administration, focusing on catering operations, shipping, website development and inventory management. A graduate of the French Culinary Institute, Ryan went on to become a skilled chef in the kitchens of Koi Restaurant and Lounge, Michelin starred Pok Pok NY, and critically acclaimed ilili. Today Ryan leverages his years of professional experience, educational pedigree and cultural roots to benefit The Migrant Kitchen Initiative.
